The genesis of MITIELITE PALLETS goes back to 1994. The idea was to design and develop a range of lightweight pallets that would move the use of the international palletised freight network within the reach of a wide range of industries which had hitherto been excluded due to the shortcomings of existing heavy wooden units.

Among these shortcomings were rough, abrasive surfaces, susceptibility to damage leading to a short useful life and above all, high empty weight. Whilst it was recognised that there would always be a place for these units, their disadvantages excluded many industries from their use. MITIELITE PALLETS were designed to fill these gaps as well as extend the use of pallets into new markets world wide.

A ten year research and development program has yielded a range of pallets which are strong, rigid, durable, fire retardant, food rated, temperature tolerant, easy and quick to manufacture, attractive in appearance, have no sharp edges, are recyclable, can be coloured, fit standard racks and in their base format, will carry loads up to 400 times their empty weight.

In contrast with timber units, MITIELITE PALLETS have no measurable impact on world timber consumption and their cost is directly competitive with timber pallets. Their lightweight yields great economies in the case of low-density loads and they will reduce the incidence of one way trips, being light enough to be returned to the sender economically. As well, in the case of road or air transport, they represent significant savings in fuel consumption.

They can be easily and safely moved by hand and can be accessed by lifting equipment from all four sides.

MITIELITE PALLETS will move into entirely new areas of freight handling throughout the world.
